To open a job, use the new job
wizard. Its first page is shown below:

First enter a name for your job. I have selected 'Apricot' for no good reason. The 'Next' and 'Finish' buttons will not enable unless a name is entered. Then, select the job type. A remote job is one where events are processed on a remote server; a local job is one where events are processed on your computer. You must also decide whether your job will be a used for data analysis or for event generation. The only difference is that if you select event generation, no data set will open. However, if you select event analysis, the wizard will prompt you to open a data set from a remote server if you have selected a remote job, or to open a data set from your own machine if you have selected a local job.
Click on 'Next' or 'Finish' (whichever is enabled) to continue.
For event analyzers, see creating an event analyzer. For event generators, see creating an event generator.
