The Opening Page of the New Job Wizard

This page is the first place to go to in opening a job.  See the page on the new job wizard for how to open it.  The page is shown below:

The wizard asks you to specify

• a name for uour job.  Specify the name of the first line of the page.  (The 'Next' and 'Finish' buttons will not enable unless a name is entered.)
• the type of job you want.
  • A remote job is one where events are processed on a remote server
  • A local job is one where events are processed on your computer.

  You must also decide whether your job will be a used for data analysis or for event generation. If you select event generation, no data set will open.  If you select event analysis, the wizard will prompt you to open a data set from a remote server if you have selected a remote job, or to open a data set from your own machine (using a local data interface module) if you have selected a local job.
