Installing JAS for Linux

The complete JAS for Linux, including Java, Java3D, and the LCD extensions is available as a single tar.gz file on the CD. To unpack it issue the command:

tar -xzvf /mnt/cdrom/Software/JAS/Linux/jas-2.2.4-LCD-Linux.tar.gz

(assuming your CD is mounted at /mnt/cdrom -- make adjustments as needed) This should create a JAS directory which contains everything you need.

Checking Your Installation

To start Java Analysis Studio just issue the command

JAS/jas

If all went according to plan the main Java Analysis Studio window should appear. If so you are ready to move on to the next tutorial
