SLDTMS Tape Management Servers

• implemented watchdog July 1996

• VMS batch job: “test_sldtms” (by Perl)

• runs every 20 minutes

• restarts automatically if VMS system is restarted

• sends requests to the two SLDTMS servers

• checks that the servers are responding promptly and that they are giving the correct answersrequires that the database be uprequires that the sld_usr disk is not full

• alpha-pages Perl when a problem is detected
