Shower Descriptionin a Highly Segmented Calorimeter

• We have the opportunity to make a ‘tracking’ device with the calorimeter

  • tremendous segmentation in the EM cal - O(50) lyrs
  • lesser in the HAD - O(10)
  • good transverse seg in the EM cal to match Moliere radius
  • ~ 1cm in the Small. Unknown yet for Large

• Characterize showers by

  • min-I prior to interaction
  • shower-start point
  • shower axis giving average direction of shower after interaction
