Impatient with budget limitations, a small group of SLD collaborators have started work on their own Prototype Linear Collider (PLC). After an extensive site search, the perfect location was eventually found and construction commenced.
A few weeks later boring of the tunnel is complete and PLC commisioner Ken Baird congratulates the crew on a job well done.
A little later the accelerator is almost complete, on time and on budget, of course. Thanks to excellent project management from Marty Breidenbach not a single loose cable is in evidence.
