How to shutdown a node in the SLACVX cluster

 
From the console do the following:

$ CREATE /TERMINAL/DETACH/NOLOGGED_IN

When the Decterm comes up, login with the username "CONSOLE" and
choose the appropriate option from the menu provided.

Example:

	WARNING: Unauthorized access to this computer system is prohibited.
        	 Violators are subject to criminal and civil penalties.

	_____ VAX/VMS on Node SCSW5 _____

	Username: CONSOLE
	This is a captive account to be used
	only for the following functions.

	 SETTIME hh:mm:ss
	 SHOWTIME
	 REBOOT
	 SHUTDOWN
	 LOGOUT
	 HELP

	 SETTIME sets the system date and time
	 SHOWTIME shows the system date and time
	 REBOOT reboots the system
	 SHUTDOWN shuts the system down
	 HELP prints this message
	 LOGOUT logs off this process
	 Any other response will be ignored.

	CMD>> shutdown
