Status of the SLD Run Information System
Performance During the 1996 Run
-
Worked well throughout the 1996 Run.
-
Considered offering a non-tables version, but had no requests for it.
-
Handling of invalid runs caused some confusion.
Solved later in the run by providing an explicit toggle
for whether such runs should be included or excluded
and by tagging such runs in the resulting tables.
Definition of invalid can be specified differently for each data type.
-
Plot-by-month features were partially implemented after end of run.
Currently accessible from the URL but not from the interface pages.
May not be sufficiently useful to merit cluttering the interface.
Remaining Bugs
-
Data from SLDPM.OFFLDAY does not correctly integrate into the
overall scheme for handling
"runs for which some of the requested data is invalid."
-
Topdraw does not correctly handle plots by day that span a year.
-
Topdraw does not go to zero for empty days.
Additional Features Desired
-
Handle correlated errors.
-
Have histograms use black on white rather than white on black.
-
Allow plotting of more than one quantity per histogram.
-
Have all error messages, along with the URL that caused them, mailed to PERL.
-
Have a way to access old variants of job output.
-
Allow overlays of "standard data" onto the histograms.
-
Look for ways to speed up the system. Study where time is going.
