SLD Offline Processing Report for 17-jun-96 Prepared by: RSP from SLDWWW 17 Jun 1996 18:03:55 --------Monitor Evaluation--------- Run # Polar ZSLD #LUM -RTH-- -Ev DSP- -CDC HV- -Overall- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 34702 .7706 136 273 see comments ok ok (?) 34703 .7726 85 208 see comments ok ok (?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 0.7716 221 481 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The comments noted below apply to both runs. 1) The SDATCHK files give, respectively, 3328 and 3497 "lying bastard" (#10) errors. 2) The various quantities checked on the STATS files seem to be ok. 3) The event displays look good, in general. However, I would ask Leon Rochester or some other person responsible for the tracking code why there are a significant number of what seem to be obvious tracks that haven't been fitted. For example, look at evens 241 in run 34703. Also, event 69 in run 34703 has CDC tracks that don't seem to match up in VXD3. 4) Something is peculiar about the average beam position in y as recorded in the statistics plots. For example, XPRI is not a gaussian on the plot. It may be gaussian off the plot, and we are seeing only the tail of a distribution. Also, some other of the statistics summaries may bear further attention, but I suspect that it is mainly a matter of statistical fluctuations. I will look for continuing trends as I scan more runs. I also found that the histogram labelled VEP (vertex inefficiency vs momentum) "contains no data." The other two inefficiency histograms, one vs cos(theta) and the other vs phi, show uniform linking inefficiency of about 12%. Is this ok? 5) The pass 2 histogram that gives efficieny vs layer is labelled DELD, not DERD, as indicated in the instructions. I find the efficiency to vary from about 70% at the innermost layers to a maximum of about 90% and then to decrease again to about 83% at the outermost layers. Is this ok?
