Collaboration Issues
A bold Plan on the face of it:
- use full blown physics analyses to determine optimal values of detector parameters

- reality check: it took ~10 days for 24 AIX boxes at SLAC to generate ~25 fb-1 SUSY Pt 3 + WW for one detector config

- if this is the only way, we’d better be organized!
Three kinds of simulators

- users of prepared datasets
- access to the data and analysis tools (eg Root, JAS, PAW)

- users of specialty datasets
- access to full simulation code to run at home (but not modify)

- algorithm developers
- access to full simulation code and mechanism to feed new code back to collaboration
