Goals
Provide for both:
- full simulations of generic detectors: component design
- fast smear, given detector performance: physics requirements
Standard interface to generators
- use FNAL StdHEP interface for /HEPEVT/
ASCII file output for routing to various parsers (Root, JAS, PAW)
Simple detector description
- ascii input file describing cylindrically symmetric components
- Note: arbitrarily complex components can be hand-coded if need be
EGS/GHEISHA for calorimetry: uses GISMO until GEANT4 is ready
- full digitization of segmented device
- ‘single particle’ clusters
Hits deposited in tracking systems and digitized
- smeared tracks initially for particles with sufficient number of hits
Full MC truth for all digitizations
