Release Numbering|
|
Release Numbering SchemeWe have now adopter a more rational release numbering scheme, or the form:
Following the convention adopted by other open source projects, releases with the minor number odd are considered developer releases, while releases with the minor number even will be considered production releases. All releases will be tagged in the CVS repository, with the version number proceeded by v and . replaced by _, thus release 2.0.1 would be tagged as v2_0_1. When fetching the JAS source from CVS you are advised to fetch a specific tagged version, since it is more likely to compile and run than if you just take the most recent files from CVS. A subset of releases tagged in CVS will be made available as a packaged binary download. The following table lists recent releases tagged in CVS.
